I am very familiar with the lipedema disease and would like to offer you the best possible treatment to increase your well-being, attractiveness and quality of life. Michel Aesthetics stands for a holistic approach to patients, so as to achieve a harmonious and natural result and make you feel completely comfortable in your body again.
Lipedema is a disease classified by the WHO. In addition to the unpleasant consequences it has for body contour and external appearance, patients also suffer from pain and unpleasant feelings of pressure due to tension. In addition, there is a particular susceptibility to hematomas even from minor injuries.
Other symptoms may include a feeling of heaviness, swollen legs (especially when standing for long periods of time), pain at rest and pain on physical contact. Patients tire quickly in their legs and arms and often have limited mobility.
Those affected by Lipedema Those affected by lipedema are not only heavily burdened in their everyday lives – they often no longer feel comfortable in their skin and no longer feel attractive. This doesn’t have to be the case. I would like to help you regain your attractivity and improve your quality of life.
Arms and legs – that’s what the literature says. Our clinical experience shows us very clearly that the stomach, breasts, back, buttocks and chin can also develop symptoms in the sense of lipedema.
In order to restore a holistic, harmonious body image, it makes sense in many cases to treat the back, the waist, the coccyx region and the buttocks. With modern examination methods including ultrasound and 3D measurement, the extent of the lipedema can be assessed very well and a non-binding treatment plan can be drawn up.
There are three stages of lipedema. Depending on how severe your lipedema is, I adapt the therapy exactly to your diagnosis.
Stage 1: The skin surface is smooth, the subcutaneous fatty tissue is thicker and the fatty structure is finely knotted.
Stage 2: The skin surface is uneven and there are clear dents and bumps. The fat structure is coarse knotty.
Stage 3: The tissue is coarser and harder, the skin has large lobes forming pockets.
Unless the disease has reached an advanced stage or symptoms are not very troublesome, it is advisable to begin with conservative measures.
These include wearing compression stokings, manual lymphatic drainage, water sports, and psychosocial support, if necessary. In some cases, this treatment can improve symptoms to the point that surgical therapy can be avoided.
Conservative therapy should be carried out over a period of at least six months. I will be happy to advise you in my consultation hours on the various treatment concepts.
If conservative therapy does not result in sufficient improvement of the symptoms, or if there is even progression, surgical treatment may be considered.
So far the only known surgical therapy for lipedema is the all-layer liposuction of the affected areas. This means that – in contrast to cosmetic surgery – not only deep and medium layers of fatty tissue are suctioned, but also superficial ones.
In addition, great care is taken to operate in a way that is gentle on tissue and lymphatic pathways in order to avoid lymphatic drainage problems.
Take the test in just 3 minutes and find out if you also suffer from lipedema (this test cannot replace a medical examination, advice, diagnosis and therapy recommendation. It can, however, help you to classify your symptoms correctly).
With the most modern methods and effective active ingredients, I would like to bring your body back into shape and increase your well-being. Get a first impression of the lipedema treatment in my practice.
Currently, the only known surgical treatment for lipedema is all-layer liposuction of the affected areas. In contrast to cosmetic surgery, not only deep and middle layers of fatty tissue are suctioned off, but also the superficial ones. In addition, great care is taken to operate in a way that is gentle on the tissue and lymphatic system in order to avoid lymphatic drainage disorders.
After liposuction, excess skin and sagging tissue may appear, because the skin is no longer stretched by the volume of fat. With plasma tightening we can tighten the excess skin without surgical intervention.
The tightening works through a targeted release of heat into the tissue. New collagen formation is stimulated and a tightening effect is achieved.
If the plasma effect is not sufficient due to too much excess skin, there is the option of surgical skin tightening.
With a skillful incision, the visibility of the scars can be improved, but never completely avoided.
On the other hand, the advantage of surgical tightening is a very pronounced tightening effect.

Follow-up care is crucial for a good and satisfactory surgical outcome. Thanks to our in-house physiotherapy department, we start manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) directly after the operation. These treatments should definitely be continued at home by experienced lymph therapists. Our physiotherapy team is also at your disposal at our various locations. We recommend performing the MLD two to three times in the first three weeks, after which you can increase the intervals.
During the operation you will receive a suitable compression garment from us, which ensures that there is no severe swelling and that the hematoma formation remains manageable. The bodice should be worn day and night for at least six weeks. During the first postoperative days you can shower with the bodice, after four to five days you can take it off to shower. After washing the bodice, put it back on while it is damp and only dry it once you have put it on.
Immediately after the operation, ensure that you have a sufficient supply of liquid containing electrolytes. Moderate exercise is allowed, but you should not overdo it with physical activity and listen to your body.
After the wound has healed (approx. two weeks), you can swim without a bodice. Vibration-free sport is allowed after four to six weeks. jogging, trampolining, etc. should be started after four months at the earliest. You should wait just as long with EMS training and LPG applications. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

In order to provide you with as much information as possible, I have listed the most frequently asked questions here. Of course, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have in person!
If you are not sure whether you are suffering from lipedema, please speak to your family doctor to confirm the diagnosis and, if necessary, to prescribe conservative therapy measures such as manual lymphatic drainage or flat-knit corsets (class 2).
In some cases, general practitioners cannot correctly classify the clinical picture or there is uncertainty about further therapy. Vein doctors (phlebologists) are usually very familiar with lipedema and can also rule out whether your symptoms (also) have a venous cause.
We would also be happy to advise you without obligation. We carry out an ultrasound examination and 3D measurement as well as a detailed examination and anamnesis for all patients with suspected lipedema.
Please bring the findings of your family doctor and/or vein doctor with you to a consultation appointment.
Large-volume liposuction for lipedema costs from 40000 AED. The service can be charged without statutory VAT if it is a medical indication. For this, you need a written diagnosis by a medical doctor who is independent of us.
A Renuvion ® treatment during liposuction costs additionally from 15000 AED.
This depends very much on the findings. Most patients need two or three operations.
Expect to miss work for about two weeks after liposuction. Home office is also possible in most cases. In the case of standing and/or physically very strenuous activities, three weeks may also be necessary. Please talk to your employer before the operation.
After the treatment, you will probably notice a general soreness, but this can be treated well with oral painkillers.
In general, our patients’ satisfaction after the treatment is very high. However, if the result is not one hundred percent satisfactory, we will find an individual solution together.
The treatment of lipedema requires a lot of experience. On the one hand, the surgeon must know exactly how much fatty tissue and in which layers he has to remove it. On the other hand, pre- and post-treatment are crucial for a good result.
We will be happy to help you if you still have minor or major problems after liposuction. If complaints occur in areas of the body that have not been treated before (arms, abdomen, chest, chin, back, etc.), we will be happy to advise you on the possible treatment options.
Minor interventions can often bring about a significant improvement in the symptoms. Arrange a non-binding consultation date. Of course, we also carry out our standard diagnostics (ultrasound, 3D measurement) on previously treated patients in order to find the optimal therapy for you.
Large-volume liposuction usually takes between two and a half and three hours. If further procedures are performed, for example tissue tightening, the operating time is slightly extended.
Most procedures are performed under general anesthesia due to the large wound area and the high suction volume. In case of smaller operations, other forms of anesthesia can also be used.
Yes, this is possible. In particular, treatments with autologous fat, e.g. for breast augmentation, are an option, but other procedures such as filler treatments or augmentation with implants are also possible during the procedure. I will be happy to advise you on this during a personal consultation.
In addition to arms and legs, symptoms similar to those of lipedema often occur on the back, buttocks, abdomen, breasts, chin and face. Here, too, liposuction can improve the symptoms. I will be happy to advise you on this during a personal consultation.
Usually, the symptoms do not recur in areas that have been treated. In some cases, however, the lipedema symptoms may shift to other parts of the body. If this is the case, I will be happy to advise you on possible treatment options.
During aesthetic liposuction, fat is mainly aspirated in deep layers and the aspiration volume is usually significantly lower. For the treatment of lipedema, it is important to reduce the abnormal fat cells in each layer and a high aspiration volume (approx. 8 liters) is aimed for.
